The Great Circle Festival Gathers September 7th – 9th
Everyone needs a last summer bash before settling into fall, right? Camp Cascadia’s slogan suggests, this is a “party with a purpose.“
Join in for a long weekend of amazing music and community in the vast & beautiful Grande Ronde (or “great circle”) Valley, the crown of wild NE Oregon (if you need a ride from Portland there are ways)!
The Great Circle is a music festival that was created with the purpose of advocating and raising money for the Blue Mountains Conservancy. The Idea was birthed last year and is finally coming into fruition with the help of the non-profit organization, Camp Cascadia, and local band, Bitterroot.
The Great Circle festival will be held at the Blue Mountain 4-H center outside beautiful La Grande, OR next to Hunter road on September 7th, 8th, & 9th. All this for only $25. WHAT? Yes. $25. (Sat & Sun night camping included!)
People can expect a family friendly event filled with beautiful music, camping, nature, art and a good cause at the center of it all. Food will be provided by Crave-a-bowl Grill from Baker City and beer will be from our own local brewery Mt. Emily Ale House.
To kick the event off on Friday we will be having a volunteer day where people can get some hands on experience on the Conservancy land and learn a little bit about what The Blue Mountains Conservancy is doing. Those who do volunteer will get $5 off the ticket. That night to kick off the music we will be having a songwriters night with featured bands afterwards, so if you feel like sharing your music come out friday night! Then Saturday is the big day! To start the day there will be free yoga classes in the morning and then the music will start at noon and go until midnight with great local bands and out of town bands as well. There will be local vendors selling goods like jewlery, photography, art, sweets + drinks, and great food and beer.
It will be an epic day of music and fun!Sunday will be the wind down day, once again free yoga in the morning followed by a group blessing of the land and a community drum jam open to everyone!
it is sure to be an amazing time.
